Best certified translation services in 2026

Of the online certified translation services we checked, RushTranslate is the best value at a flat $24.95 per page of up to 250 words[1]. Day Translations costs more, from $29 a page, but copies the layout of your original[2]. LoreAI is a machine translator, not a certified translation service, so it is not on this list.

The ranking at a glance

  1. RushTranslate. The lowest flat page price we found, best for a standard USCIS document[1].
  2. Day Translations. Best when the translation has to look like the original, with tables and seals in place[2].
  3. ProTranslate. Priced by the word, best if you want a quote matched to the exact length[3].
  4. A translator from the ATA directory. Best for a rare language, a specialist document or someone local[4].

Prices, turnaround and what is included come from each company's own page, opened on November 2, 2026. We did not order a translation from any of them, so this ranking says nothing about translation quality or how fast they really deliver. Check the price for your document with an upload quote before you pay.

What a certified translation has to include

For USCIS, a document in a foreign language must come with a full English translation that the translator certifies as complete and accurate, and with the translator's statement that they are competent to translate from that language into English[5].

In the United States anyone can certify a translation, and the translator does not need to hold a certification[4]. The American Translators Association suggests the statement name the translator's qualifications, the document and language, and carry the translator's name, signature and date[4]. Each of the three companies below says it includes a signed statement of this kind.

1. RushTranslate

Verdict
A clear flat price and an acceptance guarantee that names USCIS[6].
Best for
A birth certificate, marriage certificate or diploma of one to three pages, in 65+ languages[6].
Price
$24.95 per page, where a page is 250 words or less. Notarization is $19.95 an order and an e-Apostille $79.95 an order[6].
Turnaround
From 24 hours for 1 to 3 pages, and expedited service cuts that by about half for an extra fee[6].
Does badly
It applies basic formatting and does not copy the design of your source document[6]. The guarantee covers the recipients named in its policy, and others need confirming before you order[6].

2. Day Translations

Verdict
The one to pick when the reader will compare your translation with the original line by line[2].
Best for
Forms and certificates with tables, seals and borders, which it reproduces by default, in 500+ languages[2].
Price
From $29 per page. An Illinois apostille is $105 an order, and notarization is a paid add-on[2].
Turnaround
Delivered within 24 hours, and most one to three page documents are done in that time[2].
Does badly
The highest page price of the three services here, and the translation arrives as a PDF you cannot edit[2].

3. ProTranslate

Verdict
A per word price with a second linguist checking every certified order[3].
Best for
Documents in 120+ languages where you want the formatting matched to the original[3].
Price
$0.10 per word, which it puts at about $24 for a 250 word page[3].
Turnaround
1 to 2 business days as standard, with 24 hour express delivery at a higher rate[3].
Does badly
Its standard turnaround is slower than the two above, and the express price only appears in the quote after you upload[3].

4. A translator from the ATA directory

Verdict
The route to a named person instead of a company's pool[4].
Best for
A rare language pair, a legal or medical document, or a translator in your city. You can search by language, specialty, location and credentials[4].
Price
Set by each translator. The directory lists no prices, so ask two or three for a quote.
Does badly
You compare quotes and turnaround yourself, and there is no flat price or guarantee to fall back on.

Why LoreAI is not on this list

LoreAI is not a certified translation service. It is a machine translator, and no person signs its output, so it cannot meet the USCIS rule that a translator certify the translation[5]. If an office asks for a certified translation, use one of the services above.

Where LoreAI helps is before you order. Upload a scan or phone photo and you get an editable Word file in English, so you know what the document says and how many pages it runs to. If a bilingual friend or colleague will certify the translation, they can check and correct that file and sign it with the certificate of translation template. Your first document is free, up to 3 pages.

How to choose

  • Ask the office that will receive the document what it accepts. Some want notarization, an apostille or a sworn translator from a specific list. Our pages on notarized translation and sworn translation explain the difference.
  • Count the words. A 250 word certificate costs about the same at RushTranslate and ProTranslate by their own prices[1][3].
  • If the reader will hold the translation next to the original, pay for a service that copies the layout, such as Day Translations[2].
  • Check the date you need it by against the stated turnaround, and remember that notarization can add time[6].

Questions people ask

How much does a certified translation cost?

Among the services we checked on November 2, 2026, about $24 to $29 a page. RushTranslate charges $24.95 per page of up to 250 words[1], Day Translations from $29 a page[2], and ProTranslate $0.10 a word[3].

Who can certify a translation in the US?

Anyone who is competent in both languages. The translator does not need a certification of their own[4]. For USCIS, the translator certifies the translation as complete and accurate and states they are competent to translate[5].

Can I use a machine translation for USCIS?

Not on its own. USCIS needs a translation certified by a translator[5]. A competent person can review and correct a machine translation, then sign the certification for the version they checked.

Is LoreAI a certified translation service?

No. LoreAI is a machine translator that returns an editable Word file. Use it to understand a document or as a draft for the person who will certify it, and order a certified translation where one is asked for.
