What DocTranslator costs, what it keeps and when LoreAI fits better

DocTranslator, run by Translation Cloud LLC in New York, translates PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and image files into 108 languages and keeps the layout[1]. Signing up is free, but on the Free plan each AI translation costs $0.005 a word, or $1 a page for PDFs and scans, with a $0.99 minimum[2]. LoreAI's first document is free and comes back as an editable Word file.

Which DocTranslator is this page about?

Three sites use nearly the same name, and search results mix them up. This page is about doctranslator.com. Its homepage says the site launched in 2021 and is run by Translation Cloud LLC, a New York translation company founded in 2011[1].

doctranslator.com
Accounts, paid plans and apps for iPhone and Android, run by Translation Cloud LLC[1]
onlinedoctranslator.com
A free site that says it uses Google Translate and puts the text back into your layout[3]. Its privacy policy says uploads are deleted within 1 hour[4]
doctranslator.net
An AI document translator for over 100 languages that says files are deleted after processing, by default within 24 hours[5]

We could not tell from their own pages whether any two of them share an owner. If you signed up somewhere, check the address bar before you compare prices.

Is DocTranslator free?

The account is free and the translations are not. On the Free plan you pay per document, $0.005 a word for Word, Excel and text files, or $1 a page for a PDF or a scan, with a $0.99 minimum[2]. Its own example puts a 3-page PDF at $3.00[2]. Before you pay, you see the first page translated for free where that is available[2].

Basic
$1.99 a week, $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year, files up to 100 MB and 300 pages[2]
Pro
$159 a year, or billed monthly, files up to 1 GB and 5,000 pages, 5 team seats[2]
Business
$49.99 a month or $399 a year, 15 team seats[2]
Included translation
1,000 pages every 30 days on Basic and 5,000 on Pro and Business, counted as 300 words a page[2]
Trial
7 days on monthly Basic, up to 30,000 words, with a card on file[2]

Prices are in US dollars on November 2, 2026, and exclude taxes[2]. Cancelling ends the plan at once, without a refund for the rest of the period[2].

Does DocTranslator translate scanned PDFs?

Yes. Its homepage lists OCR for scans and photos, and its FAQ says it translates scans saved as JPG or PNG and phone photos where the whole page is visible[1]. On the Free plan a scanned page is billed like any PDF page, at $1[2]. The pricing page also lists OCR for scanned documents among the Basic features[2], and we could not tell from it whether that changes anything on Free.

What you get back follows the original. DocTranslator says you download the translated PDF with its layout kept[1], and every plan includes a separate PDF to DOCX converter[2]. LoreAI reads the scan and returns a Word file in one step, with the form's fields in Word tables.

Is DocTranslator safe with personal documents?

It says uploads travel over HTTPS and only authorized staff can view documents[1]. On the Free plan, files and translations are removed within 24 hours, and paid plans keep them while the subscription is active[2]. Its privacy policy section for the apps adds that paid users' files stay 30 days after the plan ends[6].

The same app section says documents are translated by DocTranslator's own AI service, and that text it cannot handle goes to Google Cloud Translation[6]. LoreAI deletes the upload right after reading it and the results about an hour later, unless you turn on Keep my translated documents.

Can DocTranslator give you a certified translation?

Not from the AI. Its FAQ says machine translations can't be certified or notarized, and that USCIS needs a human translation[1]. It sells one. A certified human translation is $25 a page, plus $10 for certification or $20 for certification and notarization[2].

LoreAI is not a certified translation service and does not sell human translation. Its Word file is a draft that the person who certifies can correct and sign. The guide to getting a certified translation explains the steps.

Which one fits your document?

  • Pick DocTranslator for a long typed PDF, a slide deck, an InDesign file or a spreadsheet that has to come back in its own layout.
  • Pick DocTranslator if you want a certified human translation ordered in the same place.
  • Pick LoreAI for a scan or a phone photo of a certificate, a transcript or a form, when you want an editable Word file to check before you hand it in.
  • For a typed PDF you only need to read, see the PDF translator overview for free options.
